A New Ending To Things Fall Apart

Okwonko is very excited to go back to Umuofia he has absoulutely had it with his mothers village. When he and his familly finally get back to his village, they are greeted with a huge feast. Okwonkwo's familly is very excited to be back. He is excited too but he ceases to let his emotions show. In Okonkwo's opinion, it seems that the celebration has lasted too long. He is ready to get to work on building his family's hut and getting his yams back to the way that he likes them. Right when the ceremony is coming to a close, someone stand to give a toast. The young man introduces himself as Kituefa. The elders of the village then tell Okonkwo how prosperous the young man is and how everyone looks up to him. They then tell him that Kituefa reminds them of how he use to be before he had to up and leave the village. Okonkwo greets the young man but inside he felt hurt and abandoned. He knew that it would be hard for him to take back his title of being the most honorable man in the village. He can't work like he use, his son is not around to help him, and he would have to start all over form scratch. Okonkwo gave all of the people thanks and informed them that he was tired and was in need of sleep. Okonkwo tried to go to sleep but instead he had to cry...he was hurt and ashamed. Now that he was back in his village, someone else has taken his place. One of his wives came in to check on him but he told her firmly, " Get out, and stay out!". The night had passed and his wife came in to give him breakfast, when she called his name he did not answer. There she found Okonkwo dead. (The End)

What is the Oracle of Hills and Caves in Things Fall Apart?

Agbala: The Oracle of Hills and Caves. The Shrine to Agbala was a cace that worshippers entered through a round hole in the side of a hill. Inside of the cave, the priestess of Agbala proclaimed the will of the god there to those who sought the god.

Consulting Agbala, the Oracle of Hills a nd Caves, is a ritualistic part of the Ibo religion. Whenever villagers have a question about the source of their misfortune or the future, they consult the oracle and learn the answer through the priestess. Agbala words do not go unheeded.

Who was Fredrick Douglas' Real Father?

I did research on the internet to find out the answer but I came up empty handed. Maybe this was a dumb question to ask but I was thinking that later on in his life, his father might have came forward. If there is anyone who might have a clue about who his father really is blog me please. I am really dying to know for some reason!

Sonny's Sister-In-Law

Sonny has never really gotten all of the credit he has deserved. Every since he was smaller, he was watched and carefully scoped because he was nothing like his big brother. I guess it is safe to say that his mother knew this. Sonny always liked to do things his own way. When my husband went off to the service and Sonny came to live with my family, I was able to witness his passion for music. I mean, he constantly played that piano day in and day out. It was like that piano allowed him to escape reality. Sometime when i would look at him play, I would began to think that I need to take piano lessons because our reality was hard living at times. when my husband went off to the service, he had forgotten about his promise to his momma until he realized how bad Sonny had got with his habit. He talks about it all the time and he tells me that he feels really guitly and selfish. I try to tell him that Sonny is going to be Sonny regardless...it is not that hard to see. I see them fuss and argue a lot since Sonny has started to come around more. I guess this is something that guys do. They both get there stubborness their father. Today I saw them leave together and I must say that it was a suprise. When they returned they were both smiling and hugging like loving brothers do. I must admit that I was shocked. My husband told me that they had been down to a club. My husband looked like a burden had been lifted off of his shoulders. I asked him what had went on that night and he sad that he had seed Sonny play with the band. He simply said now I understand....I understand Sonny's Blues. I understood it all, he had seen Sonny play the piano the way I did long ago. It is not hard to see how Sonny blues, his music, allows him to escape reality!!!

"Sonny's Blues"

When I left class on our last meeting. I was thinking that the person in the story speaking of Sonny is here sister. Now that I have read more I see that the person that is talking about Sonny is his brother. He has not seen Sonny for about a year but he he is aware that he is addicted to herroin. Now that he sees this article about his brother Sonny, a musician, all of his nightmares are back. I guess the nightmare that his brother has fallen into the broken realilty that surrounded them when they were children. They grew up in the harsh parts of Brooklyn, where it seemed that no one had a way out of the harsh lifestyle that they are consumed by. Sonny's brother made it out and it is sad that he really did not. He was caught in a drug bust and now he is in rehab. After a while he is released and Sonny and his brother reunite again. They get into a cab and Sonny asks the cab driver to drive them on the west side of town. As each brother looks out the window they don't see the same things. Although they both come from here...Sonny's sees a place that he was consumed by as a child, he begins to think of all of his broken dreams. Sonny's brother thinks of how he made it out but still wonders what actually made Sonny take such a drastic detour in his life...to be continued...........

Forged By Fire(p.1-30)

This portion of the book was very intense and emotional. Jerret was forced to go through so much at an early age, mainly because of his mothers drug addiction. After his mom is sent to jail, his Aunt Queen takes him under her wing. The nuture and care that she gives him allows him to try to heal from some of his past pains. Although Aunt Queen is not really a rich woman, she tries to give Jerret all that she can. Jerret is greatful forall of the little things that she does for him. They seem to be living life well and dandy until Queen tells Jerret that his mom is coming by on his birthday tommorrow. Jerret is not to happy and he makes sure that his aunt is aware of it. As always she gives him comfort and tells him that everything will be ok, in hopes that Jerret will be content with the day ahead. Jerret listens to his aunt and tries to cope with the crazy day ahead of him. I don't know what lies ahead in this book but it surely is a page turner! Stay tuned...

Banned Book Group Assignment

The group assignment that we were assigned to do was not as bad as I thought it would be. I thought that my group members were never actually goung to come aroud to do the work. In the end, we came togehter and did exactly what we were suppose to do. All of our books matched the theme that we chose from the beginning which was, "sexuality". Our presentation also turned out very good. This assignment allowed me to get to know two of my classmates a little bit better too. I would recommend this assignment for other classes because it was a fun way to learn more about banned literature.
